"Now rakhis are made in factories, designers are employed to come up with innovations," she said. Novelty can be witnessed not only in the shape and design of rakhis, the method of delivering them to brothers has also undergone a sea-change. What's more, China-made rakhis are also doing the rounds. Sheila Kaul, another senior citizen, said earlier, women would make rakhis themselves and sell them through special stalls set up in every neighbourhood.
