S. soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan is now on sale at area jewelry stores as part of a fundraising campaign entitled, “From Soldier to Soldier. There are different styles as well, including bracelets with a button clasp, or a heart or a heart and a diamond. The “survival” bracelets worn by soldiers are braided with parachute cord, which can be unraveled to several feet in length and possibly used to save a life. According to Lovelinks of America, the Massachusetts company behind the national campaign, each knot in the bracelet symbolizes a fallen soldier for some people. The bracelets are being produced in the U. S. Choices also include a sterling silver clasp or vermeil clasp, shaped like a uniform button. The clasp is often a uniform button sewed on, which symbolizes the uniform.
